PTA GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING 1/23/2019 at 5:30 p.m.
Parents…do you work during the day? Are you disappointed you can’t make a PTA meeting because it’s held during the day? Would you like to learn more about PTA and make new friends? Would you like to get a personal update on the happenings at the school directly from our principal, Mrs. Dagley? Then you will want to attend our next PTA General Membership meeting, Wednesday, January 23rd at 5:30 p.m. We hope to see lots of new, smiling faces! We will also have a Guest Speaker Jeanine Tiemeyer discussing Mindfulness in Education (see below for more information).
Don’t have anyone to watch your children during the evening PTA meeting and are unable to leave them home alone? Not a problem, the PTA has you covered! We are planning to have the adult meeting in the library area leaving the MPR available to host your children.
At the PTA meeting, our Nominating Committee will be elected. They are responsible for filling the very important Executive Board positions to carry on the amazing work our PTA has been known for since we opened our doors! Positions needed to be filled are: President, Executive VP, VP Ways & Means, VP Communications, Secretary, Treasurer and Auditor. We are also looking for a Golf Tournament chairman. If this position is not filled by May, we will not be able to host the tournament in the fall.

Mindfulness in Education with Jeanine Tiemeyer
Mindfulness practices of various kinds are currently getting significant attention from mental and physical health organizations due to increasing evidence of the effectiveness of these practices in many applications. This will be a quick overview of the meditation techniques we are introducing at CVES that are simple, accessible, and fun. These techniques are all about leveraging students’ time and attention allowing them to build healthier habits.
